I'm a Digital Product Designer based in Madrid.
I feel passionate about visual design and besides using a problem solving approach, my work focuses on creating user experiences that are seamless, impactful and improve people's lives through design.
I started in the design field as a graphic designer, since then I’ve worked on different projects, from product design to visual identity and offline design, but it was not until 2019 when I started to delve into the "why" behind my works.
Were my designs being useful?
Later on I found myself studying UX/UI Design and connecting the dots between business goals, technical constraints and user satisfaction. Working closely with other designers got me so fascinated that since graduating I haven’t stopped working on my design skills and right now I'm specializing on digital marketing.
Besides designing, I’m a cheesecake lover who's currently learning to play piano.
Design solves a problem.
In order to provide a solution, I need to understand the problem first. That’s why before jumping into designing
I always start with a thorough research, gathering all the useful data by performing some interviews or surveys when needed and then I execute a competitive analysis to make sure that we’re asking the right questions in order to accomplish the right challenges.
Time to gather insights, and when these findings are synthesized , It's time to formulate a problem statement -sometimes called a point of view (POV) statement- that outlines the issue or challenge that I will seek to address.
Define stage help us designers gather great ideas to establish features, functions, and any other elements that will allow us to solve the problems.
Now, I’m ready to generate ideas.
The solid background of knowledge from the first two phases means I can start to “think outside the box”, look for alternative ways to view the problem and identify innovative solutions to the problem statement that it's been formulated. Brainstorming is particularly useful here...
As we learn more about the problem and the users, we might want to rethink some design decisions, and that’s alright! The design process isn’t linear, it’s an iterative process.
And I also like to keep this in mind:
“Progress is impossible without change” ~ George Bernard Shaw.
And last but not least: Let’s share!
Sharing your ideas and designs with other colleagues will ultimately improve your designs, as collaboration enables to expand our horizons by simply hearing out other people’s ideas.
Very often, discussing our designs with someone helps us see obvious options we may have missed.
